What do prompts, citations, brands, and chats mean?
The four core concepts in BabyPenguin and how they connect to each other.
The four core concepts
These four ideas are the foundation of the product. Once you understand how they connect, the rest of BabyPenguin becomes much easier to navigate.
Prompts
Prompts are the tracked questions BabyPenguin sends to AI models to evaluate visibility. They can be grouped by topic, persona, tag, and location so you can analyze different kinds of demand.
Citations
Citations are the specific URLs referenced inside AI responses. They explain where models are drawing supporting information from.
Brands
Brands are the companies or products surfaced inside AI answers. This view lets you see whether your own brand, your competitors, or both are showing up.
Chats
Chats are the underlying AI responses themselves. This is where you inspect the actual wording, the order of brands, the sources, and whether your brand was meaningfully recommended or only briefly mentioned.
How they connect
Prompts generate tracked results. Those results contain brand mentions and citations. Chats show the raw AI response behind the metrics. If you understand that flow, the rest of the product becomes much easier to use.
